When a Heart Melts
You will know when your heart melts with love at first sight.
It cascades down your cheeks in burning tears...
Speechless-Unstoppable tears that etch his name across your heart forever.
Welcome to your world and to my heart, baby Ethan.
"For you created 'his' inmost being;
you knit 'him' together in 'his' mother’s womb.
you knit 'him' together in 'his' mother’s womb.
I praise you because 'he' is fearfully
and
wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well!

Peek-a-Boo Fears
I love playing Peek-a-Boo
with my grandson.
He doesn't realize that I can see him the entire time.
He delights that
he has accomplished 'staying hidden' for so long.
Childlike in my own ways
I keep my own eyes covered -
hiding from others,
myself,
and God at times.
Little by little I am learning
to lower my fists that cover my eyes
when life plays fearful games with my heart.
Even when I have hidden my fears
so well and
for so long...
Imagine my delight and childlike wonder
as I discover once again
He has had his eyes on me...
and has never left me...
the entire time!
Peek-a Boo!
God sees you...
Reflections
I noticed it one day as we sat at her kitchen table.
There she was in a pose that was comfortable to her and familiar to me…
and that’s when I noticed it – I was mirroring her same pose.
Her mannerisms were her own.
Had she sat differently
those mannerisms would have seemed awkward to me .
But, they weren’t different,
they were hers and I realized then - they were a part of me as well.
I held my hand to my mouth the way she did,
I held my coffee cup the way she did,
I leaned into her conversation the way she was leaning into mine…
In subconscious, unnoticeable ways along the journey
I had learned to reflect my Mom.
I had learned to reflect my Mom.
Reflections can be a beautiful thing…
you can find them in a mirror
you can find them in a mirror
or in still waters,
and as I realized that day-in the eyes and life of someone you love.
Mom lived a life worthy of reflecting in many ways…
Jesus lived His life on earth, worthy of reflecting in every way.
To reflect His voice,
His hands,
His compassion,
His laughter
His grace
His priority of people,
It is His reflection I desire…
as I sit at Your table Lord
I wonder. . .
am I reflecting You?
I wonder. . .
am I reflecting You?

Parchment Portrait
bringing them onto pages of life - today.
Words, have painted portraits in hearts
beyond that of the stroke of any brush.
Portraits, have captured beauty
throughout time,
throughout time,
a beauty that transcend words
beyond any quill a hand could hold.
beyond any quill a hand could hold.
May the words scrolled across these portrait pages
etch a new focus to life.
Calligraphy of life's colors...written and framed.
Lessons of life surrounding me...seen and celebrated.
Lessons of life surrounding me...seen and celebrated.
